第5曲 中国の踊り
「中国の踊り」は、《くるみ割り人形》の中でも軽快で愛らしい性格を持つ小品で、異国趣味を織り交ぜた明るい音楽が特徴です。短い動機を繰り返しながら進むシンプルな構成でありながら、跳ねるようなリズムと独特の音色感が、どこかユーモラスで親しみやすい雰囲気を生み出しています。
主旋律は軽やかなアクセントを伴って提示され、細かな反復によってリズムの躍動感が強調されます。和声は比較的単純でありながら、音の配置や間合いによって独特の色彩が生まれ、異国的な情景を簡潔に描き出しています。中間部ではわずかに表情が変化し、音の陰影が加わることで、曲全体に小さなコントラストが与えられています。

No. 5 Danse chinoise
The “Chinese Dance” is a light and charming miniature from The Nutcracker, characterized by its bright, playful spirit and subtle touches of exotic color. Built from short, repeating motifs, the piece moves with a buoyant rhythmic bounce, creating a friendly, slightly humorous atmosphere that has made it one of the suite’s most familiar numbers.
The main theme is presented with crisp accents, and its repeated figures heighten the sense of rhythmic vitality. Although the harmony remains relatively simple, the spacing of sound and the careful use of silence lend the music a distinctive color, sketching an exotic scene with remarkable economy. A brief shift in character appears in the middle section, adding a hint of shading that provides gentle contrast within the compact form.
Despite its brevity, the piece derives its character from the placement of tones and the shaping of phrases, allowing a unique rhythmic feel to emerge. Within this light movement, an exotic flavor arises naturally from its playful motion, making it a memorable example of how Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky distills foreign imagery into a concise and engaging miniature. |
