第2曲 こんぺいとうの踊り（Danse de la Fée Dragée ）
「金米糖の踊り」は、《くるみ割り人形》の中でも特に幻想的な雰囲気を湛えた小品で、金平糖の精が舞う夢のような場面を彩る音楽です。
チェレスタによるきらめく音色が象徴的で、透明感と軽やかさを併せ持つ独特の響きが、作品全体の中でもひときわ印象的な存在となっています。
3/4拍子の穏やかな揺れを基調とし、主旋律は細やかな装飾音を伴いながら、空中を漂うような軽さで進みます。
和声は甘美でありながら過度に濃密にならず、むしろ静謐で上品な色彩を保ち、チャイコフスキー特有の抒情性が控えめに漂います。
短い曲ながら、音の間合いや余韻が重要な役割を果たし、触れれば消えてしまうような儚さと、舞踏の繊細な気配が巧みに描かれています。

No. 2 Danse de la Fée Dragée
The “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy” is one of the most enchanting numbers from The Nutcracker, a miniature evoking the delicate, dreamlike world of the Sugar Plum Fairy. Its distinctive sound is shaped by the celesta, whose shimmering timbre lends the music an atmosphere of transparency and lightness, allowing it to stand out even within the suite.
Set in a gentle 3/4 meter, the main melody unfolds with fine ornamental figures, drifting forward as if suspended in the air. The harmony is sweet yet never overly rich, maintaining a refined and quiet color that allows Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s characteristic lyricism to emerge with subtle restraint. Though brief, the piece relies on the spacing of sounds and the resonance between phrases, creating a sense of fragility—as if the music might vanish the moment one tries to touch it—while delicately suggesting the presence of the fairy’s graceful dance. |
