第6曲 葦笛の踊り
「葦笛の踊り」は、《くるみ割り人形》の中でも特に軽快で明るい性格を持つ小品で、可憐な舞踏の情景を思わせる音楽です。明るい音色と軽やかなリズムが特徴で、細やかな動きが連続することで、軽快なステップが目に浮かぶような生き生きとした雰囲気が生まれています。
主旋律は明瞭なアーティキュレーションを伴って提示され、短いフレーズが次々と受け渡されることで、音楽に軽やかな流れが生まれます。和声は比較的シンプルながら、音の重ね方や間合いによって柔らかな色彩が加わり、明るさの中にも繊細な陰影が感じられます。中間部ではわずかに表情が変化し、旋律の動きに小さな抑揚が加わることで、曲全体に自然な起伏が与えられています。
短い曲ながら、軽快な動きと明るい音色が一体となり、チャイコフスキーが舞踏の愛らしさを簡潔に描き出した小品として親しまれています。

No. 6 Danse des mirlitons
The “Dance of the Reed Flutes” is one of the brightest and most light-hearted numbers from The Nutcracker, evoking the charm and delicacy of a graceful dance. Its clear tone colors and buoyant rhythms create an atmosphere of lively motion, with quick, finely articulated figures suggesting nimble, playful steps.
The main theme is introduced with crisp articulation, and the short phrases exchanged between voices give the music a natural sense of flow. Although the harmony remains relatively simple, the layering of tones and the careful shaping of musical space add a gentle warmth, allowing subtle shades of color to emerge within the overall brightness. A slight shift in expression appears in the middle section, where small inflections in the melodic line bring a touch of nuance and contour.
Despite its brevity, the interplay of light movement and radiant timbre defines the music’s distinctive character, making this miniature a delightful example of how Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky captures the charm of dance with elegant simplicity.
